How to join a quiz

To join a quiz you only need a device with a web browser (phone, tablet, computer).

Open the website

Go to heyquiz.pro in your browser.

Enter PIN code

Enter the 6-digit PIN code provided by the host.

Enter your nickname

Choose a nickname that will be visible in the quiz.

Choose an avatar

Select one of 99 available avatars.

Wait for start

You’ll enter the lobby - wait for the host to start the quiz.

Ways to join

PIN code

The simplest method:
  1. Go to heyquiz.pro
  2. Enter the code (e.g., 123456)
  3. Click “Join”

QR code

If the host displays a QR code:
  1. Open your phone camera
  2. Point at the QR code
  3. Click the appearing link
  4. You’ll be automatically redirected
If you received a link (e.g., via Slack, email):
  1. Click the link
  2. You’ll be redirected directly to the quiz

Choosing a nickname

  • Choose a nickname that identifies you
  • Avoid offensive nicknames
  • Nickname is visible to all participants and the host

Choosing an avatar

You can choose from 99 avatars in various categories:
  • Animals
  • Characters
  • Symbols
  • And many more
Avatar is displayed:
  • In the participant list in lobby
  • Next to your nickname in ranking
  • On the winners’ podium

Team mode

If the quiz has team mode enabled, after choosing an avatar you may see:

Team selection (if enabled)

  • List of available teams with colors and icons
  • Number of members in each team
  • Click on the team you want to join

Random assignment

  • System will automatically assign you to a team
  • You’ll see your team info after joining

Host assignment

  • Wait in the lobby
  • Host will assign you to a team

Joining problems

  • Check your internet connection
  • Refresh the page
  • Try a different browser
  • Make sure you’re entering the correct code
  • Check if the session is still active
  • Ask the host to confirm the code
  • Rejoin using the same code
  • Use the same nickname (if you remember)
  • Your previous answers may be preserved
